The 9th annual Armed Forces Thanksgiving Luncheon, an event and mission I am passionate about, takes place this Friday! We’ll be honoring my friend and colleague, Peter Ruppert, the founder of this event during the luncheon. His positive impact and drive to create and build this event will never be forgotten. The annual event provides a vehicle for our community, from teens to adults, to understand, honor, and express thanks for the service of those who have served or are serving in our Armed Forces. Event monies after expenses are donated to the West Michigan Veterans Coalition so that they can continue their mission of improving the lives of veterans and their families by connecting them to all available support services and resources in West Michigan. This year's keynote speaker will be Kim “KC” Campbell. Colonel Campbell is a retired United States Air Force officer and Command Pilot. She was decorated for piloting her A-10 Thunderbolt II back to base in southern Iraq after taking heavy anti-aircraft artillery damage in aerial combat over Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
