Despite the rain, the AMS Family of Companies Employee Golf Outing was a success! Between golf, food, and great people it was a great time! 

We were fortunate enough to host some Three Rivers High School Students who were interested in seeing what a job in the trades can be like. The students were able to observe, learn, and even get their hands a little dirty as they were walked through our Sheet Metal, Piping, and Building Information Modeling and Scanning processes. We can’t wait to see their next steps!

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone as Governor Whitmer toured one of our jobsites in Lansing. For decades, we've been at the forefront of providing water treatment solutions across the state, ensuring clean and safe water for our communities. Another new piece of equipment is up and running at the Kalamazoo sheet metal shop. Already being put to use, the TCI Cutting Waterjet & Laser System will widen our capabilities, increase precision, and perform repeatable results making it safer and faster to complete projects. Keep an eye out for future highlighted projects as we put this machine to work!

We are wrapping up construction at Ottawa Family Justice center. The construction of this facility will bring all family services for Ottawa County under one roof, providing a more efficient family court system for Ottawa County. The construction process utilized the integrated project delivery (IPD) method. This method allowed for ongoing communication and collaboration between the trade partners throughout the project, reducing waste while increasing efficiency. Check out how building information modeling illustrates how both the HVAC and piping were outlined in the beginning and constructed to completion. 

Once again, our recruiting and education team held a Pipe Welding Demo at Allegan Area ESA . We brought a range of welders from the most experienced to ones just starting out! The teams’ demonstration included SMAW and TIG pipe welding. Allegan’s welding class has been a great resource for demonstration and education of jobs in the trades as well as a starting point for youth to enter the work force. We cannot wait to be back!

Does precision matter? Every cut, weld, and measurement plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless installation and optimal performance. All prefabrication at AMS is monitored and quality assured. When mistakes are not only costly, but dangerous, precision matters. 

It's going to be a big year for AMS as we embark on major equipment upgrades in our fabrication shops! Leading the pack is the installation of the AXXAIR Orbital Welder, a versatile tool widely utilized in semiconductor applications and other fields demanding high-purity and high-quality tubing welds. Given the paramount importance of these welds in sectors like Food, Dairy, and Pharmaceuticals, this addition stands as a monumental asset in catering to our clientele within these industries.

A look at the morning in our Grand Rapids sheet metal shop. Our sheet metal fabricators are working on duct to be sent throughout the Midwest. In this video you will see aluminum and galvanized steel. The current workload has our shop busy. Keep up the great work team!
