Array of Engineers is very passionate about supporting and helping grow the future generation of aviation professionals in the state of Michigan. Stacy P. was asked to moderate a panel about Future Talent during the Annual Innovation Update for FLITE (Ford Launchpad for Innovative Technologies and Entrepreneurship). Stacy was able to help the students on the panel share their excitement and involvement within the aviation industry with the audience. A key take away from the panel, It is up to all of us as professionals working in the aviation industry to build programs, training, and opportunities as well as support, develop and engage the next generation. The panel included some very impressive and already accomplished students: Shaun a middle school student, Aubrey an elementary student, Carter a recent WMAA high school grad, and Julianne a recent GVSU grad. These students are heavily involved with robotics programs, designing sustainable drones, flying airplanes, creating podcasts for female entrepreneurs, and interning with local aviation companies. These students are the future of aviation!! The Grand Rapids Ford International Airport Authority, in collaboration with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Seamless Ventures, Southwest Airlines® and the West Michigan Aviation Academy, has introduced FLITE, which provides grants and pilot-testing opportunities to companies focused on bringing emerging air travel technology solutions to market. This is one of the first airport-based initiatives in the nation that provides funding to encourage the design and development of new products and services in a live airport environment. #flite #GRfordinternational #airporttech

Several AoE engineers attended Monday's Merge conference, which was all about AI. Marcel Meijer, Brennan Burke, Daniel Burke, and Michael Lingg heard from speakers about ways of leveraging AI more effectively during the workday; how AI is transforming healthcare; and how copyright law comes into play with generative AI.
