You’re dealing with a customer complaint. How can you make the most of this opportunity?
When a customer complaint hits, the first question to consider is, “Are they target market?” If they are, you do everything in your power to understand their perspective. Move thoughtfully to gather facts, figures, and data. Be honest about how you see it and discuss with them what doing the right thing may be. If they are not target market, you should take the complaint with a grain of salt. Take time to understand their perspective all the while knowing they were not intended to be a customer. Being prepared to lose them as a non-fit customer could be good for you and them.
